Part 1
A Meal at the Foodcourt
"The Foodcourt Liquid Journey" was my first project at INDA , which I undertook during the first semester of my first year. Starting this project, my studio group convened for a meal at Food Republic, a foodcourt situated in Siam Center shopping mall.

Each member of our studio group was tasked with selecting a specific aspect to document during our meal. Intrigued by the diverse array of food-related liquids, I elected to capture the essence of various bottles of sauces, condiments, soups, oils, and beverages. These photographs came from the food kiosk where my plate was served, featuring the delectable Hainanese Chicken Rice, as well as neighboring food stalls.
Following the photography session, I organized the liquid bottles into five distinct categories based on their color, height, shape, transparency, and usage instructions. This process afforded me the opportunity to scrutinize each object with a discerning eye, fostering a deeper skill of fundamental object analysis.

The Hainanese chicken rice set comprises of slices of chicken served alongside marinated rice and a chicken soup. As an added bonus during a promotional period, a delightful serving of steamed vegetables with oyster sauce accompanies the meal. Completing the culinary experience, at least four types of sauce harmoniously complement the dish.

In order to delve deeper into the intricacies of my plate, I took on the task of drawing a plan and section of the meal. With the aim of maintaining accuracy, the print out ratio for the visual representation is 1:1.
My next objective was to explore the journey of the liquids present in my Hainanese Chicken Rice plate. I sought to understand how the sauces and soups made their way from the kitchen to being served on a customer's plate.

The purpose of this collage was to portray the significance of liquids as an integral component within every stage of our dining experience. From the kitchen to our arranged food plates, and even within the pathways of the human gastrointestinal tract, liquids permeate every facet of the eating process.

Part 2
Exploring Liquid's Journey

To trace the origins of the liquids found on my food plate, I embarked on creating a detailed sectional drawing of the kitchen within the Hainanese Chicken Rice kiosk. This line drawing emerged as a result of my research into the kitchen sink system and my exploration of the food court kiosk. It serves as a visual representation, showcasing the flow of liquids throughout the space.

The utilization of tap water is evident in the preparation of the chicken soup and beverages. Additionally, the water system plays a crucial role in activities such as washing, cleaning, and maintaining the toilets. Various liquids, including an assortment of sauces and oils, are stored on shelves within the kitchen. Furthermore, the drawing encompasses additional features such as the drink dispenser, refrigerator coils, water sink, waterpipe system, kitchen hood, toilet facilities, cleaning bucket, and even a fire extinguisher, all integral components of the kiosk's infrastructure.
In culmination of this project, I concluded with a final presentation by printing my 1:1 scale sectional drawing of the food kiosk. This allowed for a more immersive and realistic perspective, offering a clearer depiction of the space.

During this project, I have improved my observation skills, going beyond just looking at objects and exploring our everyday experiences, such as the enjoyment of a meal. It has allowed me to dive deeper into the subject matter and gain a more profound understanding.
